“Wandering across the world

… one step at a time”

Hello fellow Wanderers,

My name is Christina and I have recently graduated from university with a double degree in journalism and creative writing. Currently I am undertaking an honours degree and researching like crazy!

Travel has always been a love of mine. I have been very fortunate to have travelled interstate (Australia mate!) and overseas quite a bit in just my short 22 years.

So why do I love travel?

Why have I bothered starting a blog…about travel no less?

I love the idea of travelling. I love the excitement that comes with travelling – immersing yourself in the culture, meeting different people, seeing the local sights and trying to translate different languages. I love the giddy feeling I get when I board a plane, excited to be 40,000 feet above the ground, travelling to another country far from the secludedness of my own backyard.

Towards the end of 2015 I was fortunate enough to travel to America with my family and it is safe to say I caught the travel bug! I have been overseas before, but there was something extra special about this trip for me and, even now, I cannot put my finger on it. A month travelling around America (and the all-important Disneyland-hopping!) has opened my eyes to the world outside my own.

A huge element of travelling is experiencing the history another country has to offer and this, for me, is what makes travelling worthwhile. I adore the history element behind travelling – going to places rich in history, to experience what millions have experienced before you centuries ago, to stand where others have stood before.

This is the ultimate goal with my blog – to show you my love of travelling and history and how these can be combined to show you a deeper appreciation of the world.

So wander on, experience new cultures, immerse yourself in new history, learn new languages!
